Ever wonder how To-a-T Moving and Transportation came to be? Well, it’s a story straight from the heart, kicking off on Valentine’s Day back in 2022! Our founder, Troy P. Campbell III, already had over seven years of moving experience under his belt. He was ready for a new chapter, eager to strike out on his own and build something special for his family.
Just a couple of weeks before To-a-T officially launched, Troy faced a pretty wild situation that truly set the stage for our company’s values. He was working for another moving company when he encountered a customer in a real bind – an elderly woman who was moving her entire four-bedroom home all the way to California, and with a hired crew.. well, let’s just say less than committed crew. After only five hours and barely 30% of the job done, the owner of that company decided he’d had enough and wanted to leave, taking his five hours’ pay, his crew and bailing.
But Troy? He couldn’t just abandon someone in need. Even though the owner paid him for his time and then fired him on the spot for choosing to do the right thing, Troy knew what he had to do. With integrity leading the way, he rallied his brother and a close friend, and together they drove out to the Loch Lloyd community to ensure that customer’s U-Haul was loaded and ready for her long journey.
The very next day, that grateful woman paid Troy and his allies a generous amount of $5,700 for their dedication – $2,700 of which went right to Troy. And you know what happened 13 days later? To-a-T was born, built from the ground up on that very same principle of unwavering integrity. That’s our story!
